Paul Hicks

Paul is a member of Beckway’s Advisory Council, providing strategic and tactical advice to Beckway as it continues to rapidly grow the firm’s business units.

During his 35-year career, Paul has been a commercial credit professional underwriting new business loans and managing problem loan workouts of both cash-flow and asset-based loans to middle market and lower-middle market businesses. He has extensive experience with credit investments in hundreds of companies across multiple industries including business services, light manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, insurance, financial services and technology.

During Paul’s recent fifteen-year tenure at Madison Capital Funding LLC, a premier middle market lender providing M&A loans to private equity firms, AUM profitably grew from $1.4 billion to $10.5 billion. His first ten years were dedicated to managing the problem loan portfolio and establishing the Special Assets Group. This was followed by five years overseeing the entire loan and equity investment portfolios as the Chief Credit Officer and Head of the Investment Committee while also being a member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for operational oversight and establishing the strategic direction of the firm.
