Background
- The company purchased multiple different manufacturers within the electronics component space in support of Aerospace & Defense (A&D) original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
- One site was targeted for closure and consolidation with other existing sites within the company as part of an integration strategy
- The site closure and integration would contribute to the company financial performance by eliminating fixed overhead costs as well as backfilling available manufacturing capacity
Contributions
- Beckway deployed a PMO methodology to hold all stakeholders including customers, suppliers and company resources accountable under compressed timing
- A hands-on problem-solving approach allowed Beckway leadership to identify the most effective resolution to project barriers as they occurred
- Knowledge regarding multiple work streams including manufacturing, HR, finance, supply chain and contract management provided effective Beckway leadership to work simultaneously in multiple functions
Results
- Achieved $1.5M in EBITDA impact through reduced fixed overhead costs as a result of the facility closure
- Transitioned $5M in product manufacturing to multiple different facilities with customer approval, detailed training efforts and relocation of equipment and materials
- Developed and deployed a detailed transition and launch process of several hundred complex electronic components being supplied to multiple A&D OEMs including Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Rockwell Collins
